Pamatheesan Kopalapillai

Experienced Disaster, Emergency, and Education Sector Management Specialist with a Master’s in Development Studies and Public Policy, and over 22 years of humanitarian and development field experience across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. I bring a unique blend of operational leadership, strategic planning, program implementation, fundraising, financial management, and team management across multi-sector collaboration, having worked with international NGOs, donors, and government partners in complex, high-risk environments.

My core competencies include disaster preparedness and response across the Education, Protection, WASH, and Economic Development Sectors, as well as resilience-building, climate change adaptation, program implementation, networking, business growth, and expansion. I have led multisectoral interventions in conflict- and disaster-affected regions, with a strong focus on community-based approaches and collaboration with partners that prioritize sustainability and local ownership.

In parallel with my humanitarian work, I am actively engaged in the private sector—supporting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) through business networking, advisory services, and growth facilitation. As a contributor to Network In Action, I help entrepreneurs and business leaders expand their reach, strengthen operations, and build meaningful partnerships that drive inclusive economic development.

I am a versatile professional who thrives in both humanitarian and commercial landscapes, driven by a passion for service, innovation, and resilience. Outside of work, I enjoy athletics and games, and I am an avid cricket fan.
